Classics 10A, Fall 2011, is currently subject to more demand than can be accommodated.
There is usually a good deal of movement in the enrollment during the first two weeks of the class. If you are on the waiting list and are serious about sticking with this course, or if you are trying to add this course now, and if you are flexible enough about discussion section time, the good news is that in my previous experience such students do get into the course by the end of the second week.
IF YOU ARE ENROLLED AND DECIDE TO DROP, please DROP as early as possible to make room for those on the waiting list.
To ensure that the available spaces are available to those who want them, I follow certain procedures.
(1) If you want to retain your enrolled status, you must attend every lecture during weeks 0, 1, and 2 (Aug. 26 through September 9) and attend section meetings (which start in the week 1, August 29-September 2; no section meetings Aug. 25 and 26).
(2) If you are on the waiting list, attend lectures and your section in the first two weeks and we'll try to add you at the end of the second week.
(3) If you are serious about adding the class now, get yourself on the waitlist at once and make your presence known in lecture and section when attendance is taken.
(5) If there is not enough room for all, then priority for added enrollment will be given in this order: (1) declared majors in the Classics Department; (2) seniors; (3) freshman; (4) others. All else being equal, a student who has met the requirement of attendance and has a higher position on the waiting list of a section that has room will be enrolled ahead of someone in a lower position on that same list.
IF YOU ARE ENROLLED AND DECIDE TO DROP, please DROP as early as possible to make room for those on the waiting list.
